Stones Green Ginger Wine with a dash of schweppes soda

Mmmmmmmmmmmmhhh

Adenosine 21st August 2012 01:56 PM

Oh sweet jesus no. I got alcohol poisoning from Stones when I was 17. Stones and Scotch and white wine. Fucking ridiculous amount of alcohol in a very, very short time. Short story is that Stones is gross and it took me ten years before I could drink Scotch again.

Magicziggy 22nd August 2012 01:12 PM

It's not gross. You're not doing it right.

Diet sodas. "Lost" my drinking privileges roughly two decades ago. I'll always have technical rock climbing though, the type that gives me physical, emotional, and spiritual highs without fail every time.

Carry on.

gib 24th August 2012 12:15 AM

how did you lose your drinking privileges mondo?

MondoVman 24th August 2012 03:29 AM

Basically consumed my given lifetime of booze by the oh so innocent age of 42, despite having a rather low tolerance when I quit = four or five 12 oz. beers or the equivalent over 3 or 4 hours. So I sometimes refer to all of that as "losing my drinking privileges".

gib 24th August 2012 11:59 AM

so what was the actual problem you solved by quitting?

ericv00 24th August 2012 10:58 PM

2009 Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon

Doh! Multiple problems, in one sense. The standard single problem, in another.

Single problem: I drank too much for me.

Multiple problems: Developed a social dependence on booze as the result of self-medicating my outlook and
emotions as a coping mechanism for the combination of life and my somewhat common, chemical brain
condition (one that a number of members of this forum typically deride out of boredom and in an lame attempt at humor).

gib 24th August 2012 11:37 PM

ok so it helped you cope with your condition, what's not to like about that?

Well, I'm already on record as to "what's not to like" with this:
"Developed a social dependence on booze as the result of [DRINKING]".

Although, I did neglect to address the associated monetary, time, temperment, and physical costs, which were significant, in that statement.

I shall assume that for persons such as yourself that drinking problems are all fun and games; that the truly real men and boys thoroughout the world are able to drink with impunity yet lack any perception of others' lack of impunity.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/impunity
im-pu-ni-ty: 2. immunity from detrimental effects, as of an action.
