I think there's an ointment for that sort of thing

MSG 8th November 2019 12:03 PM

Which one do you use

Cunt 8th November 2019 09:39 PM

Is this California?

OmicronPersei8 8th November 2019 10:03 PM

yeah I didn't know OZ had a California

MSG 8th November 2019 10:29 PM

The whole of Oz is California. A lot of the time the burning vegetation in California is Australian in origin, like gum trees and tea-tree

are you in or near the danger?

borealis 9th November 2019 02:29 AM

3 last I saw. Be careful out there and I hope the malleefowl are safe.

MSG 9th November 2019 02:36 AM

for the moment the malleefowl are fine; the fires are all in northern NSW, mostly on the mid-north coast, and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland

there are some more bad fire days predicted in the area early next week. nostrum's folks in Ballina could be in the firing line

Everything is so bloody dry.
I just mowed dust and weeds for my lawn.

I could almost pray for rain for all those who really need it.

I am so sorry this is going on, and it's going on so early. :(

Sometimes I wonder if in 200 or 500 or 1000 years human scientists would consider an exoplanet that's basically a dup of our current Earth to be a safe place to colonize. Kinda depends on what we're making do with on this planet by then, I guess. We'll be around to make do, right?

right?

the greed and gluttens don't even want a plan be, it might constrict their gizzards.

borealis 9th November 2019 01:25 PM

We have our first dusting of snow rn. :frog:

nostrum 9th November 2019 02:36 PM

Just how long was your summer?

borealis 9th November 2019 02:43 PM

June through September, October was ok, av. temp around 15, November's been ok, av. temp. around 10-12 with nights going to 0, few light morning frosts. But it was -5 this morning and is still -3. It's likely to be colder through next week. Also rain for Nov. 11 because the universe has it in for all the fragile ancient pneumonia-prone WWII veterans who get wheeled up to outdoor cenotaphs for ceremonies.
