Song lyrics game

shamelessly lifted from another board, the idea is to reword a lyric or two from a well known song and people have to guess what it is

to kick off:

fret not over any single matter, the reason for this is that even the smallest of these will turn out well

PS extra points for doing this in a 'splainbot stylee, points deducted for using an obscure song you happen to like

Don't worry be happy.

incorrect, that would be much more concise, such as 'fret not, rejoice'

borealis 7th January 2018 12:29 AM

okay. :hmph:

borealis 7th January 2018 12:30 AM

It's on the tip of my brain...

gib 7th January 2018 12:50 AM

I awoke sometime before noon and grinned alongside the ascending local star

borealis 7th January 2018 12:54 AM

when I woke up this morning... smiled with the sun...

someone get in here and help

Timewave 7th January 2018 01:00 AM

Hint?

Timewave 7th January 2018 01:02 AM

The problem gib is that the song's can be so obscure that no one can guess.

e.g old australian hits no one outside of australia would no.
regga/ska of which I know about three songs.

Okay, I guess this tries to address the issue, although I have not listerned to a sing ed sheeran song so that is pretty obscure to me.

Timewave 7th January 2018 01:20 AM

What was that other song like be happy.
The newer one by ?????:gun:

borealis 7th January 2018 01:22 AM

I dunno, but how about questions:

Gib, is this an old pop song, like 70s/80s.

Timewave 7th January 2018 01:23 AM

I'm Happy
Pharell Williams

Timewave 7th January 2018 01:23 AM

Yeah probably should give a decade for the song.

Timewave 7th January 2018 01:31 AM

it's candance is like 'Desiderata'

Timewave 7th January 2018 01:35 AM

Or a Donovan song like Sunshine Superman.:awesome:

Zeluvia 7th January 2018 09:12 AM

good guess but nothing about not fretting.

I was thinking Cat Stevens, morning has broken... but nothing about the fretting their either

Zeluvia 7th January 2018 09:19 AM

Bob Marley.... Three Little Birds.

Dont worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin: dont worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be all right!
Rise up this mornin, Smiled with the risin sun,
Three little birds Pitch by my doorstep
Singin sweet songs Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin, (this is my message to you-ou-ou:)

Yes, nothing motivates me more than sharing joy.

Zeluvia 7th January 2018 03:21 PM

checking the rules, do I have to start with the first line of the song? and what constitutes Popular?

gib 7th January 2018 03:24 PM

doesn't have to be first line

popular = popular enough so you don't kill yourself while people fail to guess it. Apparently Bob Marley is too obscure for everyone except you so let that be a guide.
