Will Covid-19 Kill John Galt?

Does the wealth of the successful depend on the labors of the poorest among us?

Will he finally die for good?

MondoVman 25th March 2020 07:20 AM

Would you prefer being a slave, servant, peasant or free man?

Mantisdreamz 25th March 2020 07:30 AM

Who is John Galt?

MondoVman 25th March 2020 08:28 AM

Congrats, Mantis!

"Who is John Galt?" are the exact words from the famous 1957
novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

Brother Daniel 25th March 2020 09:57 AM

Mantis, here is all you need to know about this subject.

Science says:

Exclusive footage from inside the Federal Reserve preparing the $6 trillion stimulus package.
(That’s actually a factory in Wuhan. Jokes on you hoarders.)

Ya I read it years back. Managed to stomach my way through it... I think it was like 1000 pages, but seemed more like 5000 pages long. When i was nearly finished the book, i actually left it on the metro by accident. Had to repurchase it, only having like 100 pages left or something. Was not impressed, but at that point I couldn't not finish it.

I absolutely missed that she was serious. I read a bunch of her novels at about that age and just thought of them as dystopian science fiction.

If the great plague of the 14th century triggered a post-feudal imagination, it is possible - and desirable - that this one triggers a post-capitalist imagination. And fast.

If the networks break down, it is possible. I don't hold out a ton of hope though.

Zeluvia 5th April 2020 01:42 AM

Have you gotten your absentee ballots yet for November?

lol,no

The 0.01% are people like the Queen of England. They are making all sorts of progress here. Its the successful, upper middle class that they are trying to destroy. This consolidates their power.

The SBA and Bank of America are offering me multi-million dollar loans...lol, whilst they try to shut down my businesses.

That way the Queen gets all of my future profits.

Gib, how are you doing?

Yea, but gas costs like $1.09 a gallon, sooo... wait until all that cash filters through the economy. Talk about massive inflation coming to your town soon.

Everyone behind on rents and mortgages, many on government cash payments for not being able to work...just enough to eat...this is the elite eating the middle class.

TestyCalibrate 5th April 2020 11:30 PM

Inflation does seem to be in the cards.

Business-wise much better than we were, but working twice as hard. People now want flour, pasta, meat and vegetables.

However there are problems for us in the supply chain, thanks to the fact that the only wholesaler in town is owned by the biggest supermarket chain in the country. Things such as toilet roll and canned goods suddenly no longer exist at the wholesalers, and yet are in plentiful supply at the supermarket. So much for the free market with these giants around.

About 40% is owned by foreign governments. Another big chunk is held by our Social Security System.

Most of the rest is in various investment portfolios, including banks, retirement accounts, mutual funds, and insurance companies.
