Extreme Weather

Talk about the weather, because weather nerds exist.

Shortly after midnight on October 23, 2015, a group of courageous men and women flew into the center of Hurricane Patricia and landed in the history books. With measured winds of 200 MPH, Hurricane Patricia became the strongest tropical cyclone ever recorded anywhere on Earth. Let that sink in for a moment.

Why do you hate weather nerds?

This hurricane is likely to be the most powerful on record, and is about to smack into a densely populated area of Mexico.

My sister-in-law lives on the west coast of Mexico, she's not in the path of the hurricane but close enough that she won't be unaffected.

One almost needs some huge enormous storm to clear one's mind and brain of such visage.

Zeluvia 23rd October 2015 04:42 PM

Borealis was just noticing how her wish for me to get some rain was going to come true...Also, I played that rain prayer that Rhys posted at full volume (so the little watt thingy was at 400) three days ago, so of course, it could be all MY fault.

borealis 23rd October 2015 04:44 PM

Definitely your fault Zel - I`m tellin`Mexico.

Predictions of 10 inches of rain around Houston in the aftermath.

You gonna be wet.

borealis 23rd October 2015 05:14 PM

Sometimes(?) live stream video from PV. With chat. I think you have to go to the url. Landfall is quite a few hours away still, I think.

spruce 23rd October 2015 05:17 PM
