Move!

Majiffy 9th February 2018 03:35 AM

I'll be lucky if I can buy a full tank of gas on any given day.

Catavenger 9th February 2018 03:51 AM

With the way realty is going in Phoenix I might get enough to at least put a down payment on it. But I need someone who can drive a boat!

Zeluvia 9th February 2018 04:36 AM

Houseboats are easy to drive. Because you really can't take them anywhere.

:awesome:

Going to need one of those. Make salt water into fresh water.

And Internet! :christyes:

Anyone know how to get catfood by helicopter?

Majiffy 9th February 2018 06:06 AM

You can probably have those Amazon drones deliver it

And I was actually just thinking "hey I could totally live on a houseboat" earlier today.

We've talked about a retirement houseboat. But we just want it to putter around places like the Bras d'Or Lakes all summer, anchoring a day or two in little coves and river mouths, around the islands, having friends aboard to party with when we felt like it.

And what will you do for the 11 months that everything's frozen over?

I have a friend with a boat at lake (un)Pleasant just north of Phoenix.

There's also Canyon, Apache and Roosevelt to the east. The Apache trail is a pretty cool weekend day trip especially in the spring when the cacti are blooming.

borealis 11th February 2018 03:15 AM

Why is it unpleasant? looks pretty interesting and scenic to me.

MondoVman 11th February 2018 03:33 AM

o Lake Pleasant (farming water; on the northwest edge of the Phoenix mega-polis)
o Canyon, Apache and Roosevelt (3 lakes of a chain of 5 for drinking water and
home irrigation via canal system; 50+ miles east of Phoenix mega-polis)
- All the above are man-made and hot as Hades during our Hades months.

My daughter and I barely survived (sweated to death) a one night 'camp out'
years ago at Canyon Lake during a Spring Break (prob. in March) due to
a night time temp of 90F.

It's hot as fuck 10 months of the year, and the shoreline is shit. No sandy beaches, just miserable rocky desert until you get in the water.

You have to appreciate the desert to appreciate the fake lake in the middle of the desert.

The fact that your skin will literally drip off your face is probably a factor, I think.

borealis 12th February 2018 03:07 AM

K I get the picture. :staregonk:
