And that was an ancillary to this:

So if we catch a scum, and they're revealed, then we just have to kill them a second time. Although maybe the mechanics of the game are balanced for that... I'll vote before deadline. Right now I'm leaning heavily towards Majiffy.

Where did that come out, please.

Why majiffy, Andrew?

Lack of activity (both in not talking and not going anywhere at night) and we need engaged players in order to properly cum hunt. Also I like the idea of getting everyone within a single lynch of death, so that when we do find scum, it only takes us one day to take them out.

In that case, isn't he backtracking by not wanting to lynch a player with 50 HP today??

I think so, but there are avenues to rationally explaining it as otherwise; and I disagree with the strategy anyway.

borealis 18th June 2017 01:25 AM

He is. It looks like Carlsson wants you moved to card 2 quickly, Jerome. I'm not sure why but I'm not sure it's a scum motivation, because if he's scum he's being very obvious about it.

Last game we had a resurrection motif, iirc, town players were flipped and role revealed, and scum flips were revealed in such a way you couldn't tell them from town.

borealis 18th June 2017 01:55 AM

Well, let's even things up a bit.

Are there reasons why Jerome and Carlsson are still at the Desert Prison [Cid's Junk]?

borealis 18th June 2017 02:10 AM

They forgot to ask for a move or they are both thieves?

borealis 18th June 2017 02:11 AM

There was literally nothing I could buy at Cid's JS.

Same here. You're a black one and I'm a white one, obviously.

borealis 18th June 2017 02:17 AM

Yuppers.

borealis 18th June 2017 02:18 AM

Everything is very very expensive except really just fireworks.

borealis 18th June 2017 02:19 AM

Gonzo left out the gil purse that magically makes infinite gil. :getonwithit:

Last time it wasn't revealed at first, but later in the game.

spruce 18th June 2017 02:26 AM

There obviously has to be one or more.

spruce 18th June 2017 02:27 AM

Could be the gil pouch or chest I'd guess.

borealis 18th June 2017 02:35 AM

Well I've not seen anything hopeful yet and I can't afford most of the fun things and frankly don't know what some of them will actually do.

spruce 18th June 2017 02:43 AM

So b, do we need to talk about game flavour mentioning the "dark sorceress Edea" and her use of "black magic"?

You'd think it would be relevant, but it appears to be just flavour. Our moves are public knowledge, and who else would need to go shopping in the places we went shopping?

I suppose it's plausible the players who did not move felt they'd reveal something by moving, but that just puts them behind on acquiring useful stuff.

borealis 18th June 2017 03:19 AM

Meaning to say - regardless of character, I am town and in fact my character is described in glowing terms as earnest, honest and growing through life experiences. :hmph:

spruce 18th June 2017 03:21 AM

I believe you. You got an angle on rach or OP8?

borealis 18th June 2017 03:23 AM

I was just looking at rach's posts. Specifically, that she claims to have moved to her location at random, which suggests she doesn't know what she can and can't buy, maybe?

borealis 18th June 2017 03:24 AM

She's with OP8 at the Potion shop.

borealis 18th June 2017 03:31 AM

Okay, quick reread of OP D1:

Quote:

Spells can be learned by different classes. White Mages/White Sorcerers/White Knights can cast white spells [WHT], Black Mages/Dark Sorcerers/Dark Knights can cast black spells [BLK], Red Mages can cast any spell. Spells are learnt by purchasing tomes.
So other players may be Knights or Red Mages.

Also read some of the flavour and figure scum might be Edea, her conflicted reformed Knight, and the monster armoured thing she conjured up from the outer dark or wherever. I am not familiar with this flavour, obviously.

andrewclunn 18th June 2017 03:38 AM

I think I need to clarify my plan. I want us all to go to our second cards at approximately the same time. This way we maximize the time town has to purchase stuff and get a mechanics edge over scum. For this reason I am specifically wanting to delay pushing anyone to their second card while multiple players are still at full life. And on that note:

##vote OP8##

andrewclunn 18th June 2017 03:40 AM

Another thought, should we share what's in each store publicly? I have no doubt that scum (again, I assume there are two based on the flavor text) are sharing this info, and thus figuring out what is worth purchasing twice as quickly.
