alpine flora? interesting

MSG 28th February 2017 06:15 AM

yeah you have to make allowances, after all it is Australia  and the highest mountain is not much more than 2,000 metres. but it is a unique vegetation zone that normally is covered by snow every winter. except now it's endangered by climate change, not to mention grazing pressure from wild horses (brumbies) and in some places, domestic cattle

MSG 28th February 2017 08:02 AM

absolutely; I've never knowingly eaten horse but I wouldn't bat an eyelid

kangaroo, goat and camel have all become gourmet fare in this part of the world in recent years; so far the delicate flowers aren't ready for brumby but the minute it's on the menu I'm in

eta that was in reply to jerfy

Majiffy 28th February 2017 08:04 AM

:christyes:

I'm gonna have to come visit and try all of those fine flavors.
