88 millimetres of rain in about 36 hours. Not much on a global scale, but since the average annual rainfall amounts to 271 millimetres a year around here, that seems extreme to me.
You could never give the garden such a thorough soaking with garden hoses and sprinklers. I am extremely pleased. Except for some potted plants I probably won't need to do any watering for two or maybe three weeks.

The wind and the rain turned up last Friday just after four in the afternoon without warning, dumped 13 millimetres of water in my garden in under five minutes and disappeared as suddenly as they arrived.
It's the heaviest rain I have experienced in my life. Fancy that happening in one of the drier regions of the driest state of the driest inhabited continent on this planet.
