Knew it would be about Cheddar Man before I opened the link.

It's a nice recreation, expressive. Looks as if he's about to make a cynical little joke about something.

Dogger land?

I don't know why they are upset. All American white supremacists know that yes, black people evolved in africa from apes, but white people were created by god in Israel 6000 years ago. So of course a 10,000 year old corpse would have to be black.

They currently have no explanation for the Chinese. Devils maybe.

So bo, did you ever take the childcare kids to Calvert Island, BC? https://www.theguardian.com/science/...itish-columbia

Quote:
Researchers have unearthed 29 footprints in a layer of sediment on the shoreline of Calvert Island in British Columbia. Between 11,000 and 14,000 years ago, as the world was coming towards the end of the last ice age, the sea level there was 2m to 3m lower than today.

While it is not clear quite how many humans were responsible for the tracks, the team said there are at least three different sizes of footprints, including one set that appeared to belong to a child.

Nice!

The day care's field trip budget did not run to multi-thousand kilometre jaunts, unfortunately. So some other group of kids and carers.

"What's that Skip?" http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-05-2...g-site/9788878

Quote:
"The guys have just uncovered an ancient campfire that, given the depth below the surface and the relationship with the stones around it, we think is potentially around 20,000 years old," Dr Slack said.

The remnants of the ancient camp fire consist of about 20cm of fine white ash and contains pieces of charcoal which will be sent off for radiocarbon dating.

"To make it even better, they found flake stone artefacts right next to the charcoal," he said.

"So we'll get a really good association between people and the campfire itself, and we'll have a really clear idea of how old it is."

It was possible the stone tools were used to cut the meat for the fire, as remnants of kangaroo bone were also found.

"We'll have to have a look at them under the microscope, but they are the pieces that people were using in the site," Dr Slack said.

"A family sitting around a campfire having a meal probably."

Ancient kangaroo had a kangaroo king, and would gather in ritual tribal boxing matches to determine representatives to the Highland Coronation Finale.

nice article https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/...airport-lounge

Quote:
Plans to build a smaller, more efficient terminal, unveiled in 2015, put the dazzling departures lounge at risk. The lounge today is a kind of time capsule, a perfectly preserved moment when air travel was exotic and glamorous. Its considered the single most important modernist room in Canada, and theres a groundswell of support to save it. For now, the Gander International Airport Authority has indicated that the departures lounge, along with its murals, sculptures, and furniture, will remain intact and isnt going anywhere.

Pre-agricultural flat bread, oldest bread ever discovered:

Quote:
At an archaeological site in northeastern Jordan, researchers have discovered the charred remains of a flatbread baked by hunter-gatherers 14,400 years ago. It is the oldest direct evidence of bread found to date, predating the advent of agriculture by at least 4,000 years. The findings suggest that bread production based on wild cereals may have encouraged hunter-gatherers to cultivate cereals, and thus contributed to the agricultural revolution in the Neolithic period.
