Solar Sucks, Go Nuclear

A 4 or 5 page paper-equivalent presentation. Dozens of comments to boot.

"not following the link" - Not at all? You are an odd participant.

Coincidentally caught the article's author being interviewed on Fox News by Tucker Carlson today.

Re thorium, gen IV nuclear reactors are underway:
"An international task force is sharing R&D to develop six nuclear reactor technologies for deployment between 2020 and 2030. Four are fast neutron reactors."

I am looking forward to nuclear fusion instead of fission, I do understand why so many are scared of nuclear fission power because of the accidents we have had, and there is no reason not to do both. Obviously, for a small carbon foot print eco house or tiny house, solar with batteries makes far more sense than nuclear, but for large scale energy needs I can see a place for it.

We DO need to look at alternatives to coal and oil and that really is the bottom line.

nuclear takes too long and costs too much

solar and wind are cheaper, readily scalable, and have vastly lower impacts at all stages of the extraction, production, construction, operation and decommissioning stages. and produce cheaper power

tldr thread sucks ban the op

Bravely put.

I have heard arguments against nuclear power, and they would all use the exact same verbiage, while not realizing their argument was actually in favour of nuclear power.
