No Jerome I asked a direct question I would like a direct answer. I'm not doing your homework for you.

You say the maths are simple. You say it's self-evident.

Time to nut up.

It is simple, the atmosphere is not perfectly clear.

So because the atmosphere is never perfectly clear I'll never see Big Ben from the Empire State Building?

If we ever develop lenses that can focus 3,500 miles away, still the atmosphere would be too dense to see that far.

So how far can I see through atmosphere with a hypothetical super lens Jerome?

Very difficult for a hurricane to form directly on the equator. It's extremely rare.
Nevertheless, according to PH any hurricane approaching the equator would slow down until it ground to a halt.

Anyway: Hurricanes approaching the equator usually veer off. I've never seen a report of one that actually crossed the equator.

I've also never seen a report of an exception to the general rule about which way they spin. They're not like tornadoes (which can go either way); hurricanes are very reliable about spinning widdershins in the North and deasil in the South.

Nice thunderstorm just rolled through. One of my UPSs failed and my PC shut down. How often do you change your batteries in your UPSs?

I know it's not cheap. But what's the point of having these huge bricks if they don't work after a year or two?
