Well, I traveled from London in England to Katmandu Nepal by double decker bus.
All the way on the same bus by road.
And I didn't see any curve in the earth the whole way and that must have been a quarter of the circumference of the earth, that must have been from close to one edge almost all the way to the other earth.

Today I found out about a man who fairly accurately estimated the circumference of the Earth well over 2,000 years ago: Eratosthenes of Cyrene.

Born around 276 B.C. in Cyrene, Libya, Eratosthenes soon became one of the most famous mathematicians of his time. He is best known for making the first recorded measurement of the Earth’s circumference, which was also remarkably accurate. (And, yes, people at that point had known for some time that the world wasn’t flat, contrary to popular belief.)

Now the spheroids claim the circumference of the ball of earth that we sit on is :-

40,075 km
I travelled (as the crow flies)
7325

All right well it was only about a fifth, 20% around the world and I did not see any curvature at all.
I saw lots on the plane flight from Brisbane to Melbourne to Athens. And then from Athens to London. And especially from Kathmandu to bangcock through the Himalayan mountains.
Boy, those airplane manufacturers take turning their windows into perfect tv screens to show the curvature of the earth very seriously don't they?

Jerome wins everything. Always. The combination of ignorance and arrogance is invincible. Every Dunning-Kruger poster boy knows this, and Jerry is among the very best.
